Follow the below steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open your browser and download YouTube.lua file from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/code.videolan.org\/videolan\/vlc\/-\/raw\/master\/share\/lua\/playlist\/youtube.lua?inline=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VLC Player Official Download link.<\/a><\/li><li>Open Windows explorer using&nbsp;<strong>Windows + E<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the address bar at the top, copy-paste the below address.<br>For 32-Bit Machines,<br><strong>C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\lua\\playlist<\/strong>.<br>For 64-bit Machines,<br><strong>C:\\Program Files (x86)\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\lua\\playlist<\/strong>.<\/li><li>&nbsp;Locate the&nbsp;<strong>YouTube.luac<\/strong>&nbsp;file and&nbsp;<strong>delete<\/strong>&nbsp;it.<\/li><li>In another Explorer window, Go to the Downloads folder and copy the YouTube.lua file that you downloaded from the link given in Step 1.<\/li><li>&nbsp;Paste that file in the location given in Step 3.<\/li><li>Open VLC Media Player.<\/li><li>Press<strong>&nbsp;Ctrl+N<\/strong>&nbsp;to open the&nbsp;<strong>Open Media<\/strong>&nbsp;window. Alternatively, choose&nbsp;<strong>Media &gt; Open Network Stream&nbsp;<\/strong>from the top menu.<\/li><li><strong>Enter the URL<\/strong>&nbsp;of the YouTube video you want to play. Alternatively, just drag and drop the video that you want to play.<\/li><li>Hit the&nbsp;<strong>Play<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 4: Rename YouTube.lua file<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To fix,&nbsp;<strong>VLC Media Player cannot play YouTube videos;&nbsp;<\/strong>you can rename the<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>YouTube.lua file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To rename the file Follow the below-given instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>Windows + E&nbsp;<\/strong>together to open the<strong>&nbsp;Windows explorer.<\/strong><\/li><li>On the address bar, paste the following address according to your Windows version.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For 32-Bit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\lua\\playlist<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>For 64 bit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>C:\\Program Files (x86)\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\lua\\playlist<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Now find&nbsp;<strong>youtube.lua<\/strong>&nbsp;file &amp; rename it to&nbsp;<strong>youtube.luac<\/strong>&nbsp;and save it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, open the VLC Player, and try to play YouTube videos.&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 5: Change Value of File Caching Option<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this solution, you have to change the caching value of the&nbsp;<strong>File Caching option<\/strong>.
